BEGIN the journey with ease

Oh no!

This is the first thought of our clients.

Do they put everything in landfill?

Dumpster truck it all?

But what about toxic materials in electronic items?

How about recycling? Everything??

Donations?

Books? Noone wants them?!

Bulky Furniture?

And the time? How to do it all?

That is where Transitions & Treasures comes in.

After our initial consultation and the establishment of a personalized timeline, we offer a comprehensive suite of services. The earlier you book, the greater the savings you can enjoy. Our service includes:

  • Eco-Friendly Recycling: A core part of our mission is to minimize landfill waste. We handle the recycling of items such as spice jars, shampoo bottles, food items, old magazines, newspapers, and even notebooks from various stages of life.

  • Responsible Disposal: We manage the recycling of electronics, batteries, and e-readers at state-approved facilities. From scheduling appointments to packing and delivery, we take care of every detail.

  • Curated Estate Sales: We assist in selecting and hiring the right estate sales company for your needs. Serving clients in Manhattan, Westchester, and Southern Connecticut, we thoroughly vet potential partners and hire them on your behalf. Proceeds from the estate sale can be applied towards offsetting our service fees.

  • Specialized Services for High-Value Items:

For exceptional pieces such as artwork and musical instruments, we offer professional evaluations upon request. Our network of experts ensures accurate assessments, providing you with the peace of mind that your valuables are handled with the utmost care and precision.

  • Donations: Items that cannot be sold will be donated to organizations such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, ReStore, or local Freecycle Facebook pages. We handle all aspects of the donation process, including:

    • Coordinating Donations: We arrange for drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring that you receive the appropriate tax deduction receipts for donations to recognized charities.

    • Freecycle and Local Listings: For items listed on local Freecycle Facebook pages, we take professional photos, create posts, and schedule pick-ups. While these items do not come with tax deductions, we believe in the positive karma that comes from giving back to the community.

    • Book Donations: We box and organize books for donation according to your timeline and needs, ensuring they reach their new home efficiently.

    • Final Cleanup: We coordinate with a dumpster service to remove any remaining items after the donation and sale processes are complete, leaving your home broom-swept and pristine.
